LCDS: Images not displayed on course uploaded to website RRS feed

  • Question

  • Am new to LCDS and developed a sample course to see how ell it works - seems very good. However whilst I can distribute it via email/CD I have problems when it is uploaded to my website - associated images won't display. Anything I am missing?

  • Hi,

Please make sure you are using the images in the correct format.  The LCDS can use .png or .jpg files for pictures. When you create a new course in the LCDS, a Media Folder is created. Simply copy your pictures into the Media Folder and then you will can browse to select a picture for the topic you are working on.

    Thanks,

    Stephanie

  • Tks Stephanie,

Tried all that, but I think the problem is with my web hosting service.

  • I'm having the same problem.  The courseware works fine locally, or even copied to another machine, but when I upload it to my host, it runs fine, but graphics are not displayed - I get the all to common red X.  The media file is on the host site, it appears the program is not reading from it.  Any suggestions?

  • Tony,

I finally got imags to work, but not quite sure why! However I think it has something to do with the accompanying text in Click tables etc. Need to investigate further.

  • Tony,

Nah, don't think it anything to do with text.

I got images to display in Click Tables by using images from one of the LCDS sample courses - specifically the sample course on SQL. But when I use my own jpeg images they do not display, even though properties seem the same and pixel counts are similar. Go figure!!!! Still investigating.

    Roger
