My Windows 7 is still at genuine status but there is an error kindly look please RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi to all. I just would like to inquire about this thing i saw on the MGADiag. Tool

I had no NON Genuine notifications yet and i know that this is a genuine one since i got my key from our school that has a technet subscription, we are using
this windows 7 as a demo to our students here in our school.

i was doing an update when my laptop got unplugged and i did not have the battery on it..

i already did sfc/scannow and nothing was found..

is there a way to fix this? so that i can prevent future errors.. thanks!

  • Hello RaiRye,

That is expected.  The MGA Diagnostic Report tool was updated recently and one of the things that was changed was the tool now looks for those 4 file (the ones with wat in the name). This is in prepration of a Windows Activation Technoloigies update that will add those wat files. The Update will release later this month. http://windowsteamblog.com/blogs/genuinewindows/archive/2010/02/11/windows-activation-technologies-update-for-windows-7.aspx

In other words, ignore the File Mismatchs for any files with wat in the name untill you have installed that upcoming Windows Activation Technoloigies update.

    Thank you,
    Darin MS
