SSDT A M I POWERNOWI had just recently gotten this computer from a friend last Christmas. This is a custom built computer mind you and I sadly don't have the COA, though I am in the process of asking him where his CD box is for windows. I can personally attest that surely this key is valid as him and myself built this machine together about two years ago and had ordered all the parts mostly from amazon. If it isn't, I'll be baffled. The only things different I had done with the machine once it was in my hands were:
1: Reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows to pruge any possible malware. I obtained the key through an audit program called Belarc Advisor. I had done this through the usb since well again, I didn't have the CD and the DVD drive proves more bothersome really.
2: Recently I had issues with the BIOS so bad that I went ahead and did a CMOS reset. This was about 2 or maybe 3 weeks ago.
In the description of the error message I get when I attempt the feed the key to the computer it spits out: The Software Licensing Service reported that license evaluation has failed. However I noticed that before instead of 'License evaluation failed' it was previously, 'BIOS missing required license". This was after I had done a CHKDSK scan and a SFC scan along with resetting the REARM in a vain attempt.
Any ideas as to what may have happened?

You have an OEM OS on a system with a Retail motherboard. This is classified as counterfeit because an OEM install is only valid on the hardware that it was originally installed on. You will need to purchase either a Retail (or more realistically) an OEM System Builder version, format your drive and perform a clean install. Be sure to back up your data first.
