Deleting selective files before syncing. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have *.db and *.dat files that are part of database with many other support files that SHOULD NOT be coped. I would like to sync these two files only but I would need to delete this two files before preforming a contribute. Are there command line switches? Is it best done with an Echo? Can Sync Toy be run from a BAT file?

  • Let me answer your questions seperately.
    1) First SyncToy could be ran from a BAT file. You need to use SyncToyCMD.exe -r"FolderPairName", details you can find from syncToy 's help doc.
    2) If you just want to sync *.db and *.dat files, you can achieve this by add filter with folder piars, by setting change options... through SyncToy UI.
or adding include filter when you use SyncToy.exe create folder pairs.

    SyncToy.exe -d(left=d:\leftfolder, right=d:\rightfolder, name=folderpair,operation=Synchronize,included=*.db;*.dat)

3)About delete part, of course you can run a script to achieve that.
