How to map a network drive

Question
-
I have a work PC that will not backup to the homeserver - I want to map to the Homerserver as a network drive so I can copy multiple files at once (via remote access I can only seem to add files individually, not folders) & as my work PC is on my work domain I cannot add it to home domain to enable backup - I need my network address/FTP - where do I find this for my homeserver? I only seem to find the https://xxxxx.homeserver.com/ one which doesn't work for mapping.Saturday, November 28, 2015 3:46 PM

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to backup files which are on work PC to the Home server.
Windows Home Server is designed to help families keep their files and data automatically backed up, organized, and accessible. It is mainly applied to small family network. Remote Web Access would be a good way that helps you stay connected to your home network when you are away.
Since your work PC is on work domain, and you need to access home server. You need to make the home server accessible on the Internet. You need to add a network location(website or FTP site, configured it manually on your home server), instead of network drive on the work PC.

Could you explain if the work PC and the WHS are on the same network or different locations and you use remote to access to the home server. I currently have two WHS servers running in a domain setup at my company and the WHS are not connected to the domain they are just connected to the network as a workgroup computers, everything is in one building. I can certainly test this request if computers are located in different locations.
