• Question

  • We have been trying to integrate our VoIP System into the OCS2007 Pool. We are currently using a Aastra-Box which is doing VoIP.
Using Estos CallControlGateway I managed to be able to dial any number from Office Communicator but: When you dial a number the call is being routed to the physical Phone on my desk. So, you cannot hear your partner on the communicator but on the phone. What you see in the call window is an indicator stating that the connection is established and the elapsed time. That isn't quite the thing we wanted.

Is it possible to implement a routing using the TAPI-Interface of our VoIP-box in connection with the Estos CCG so that you can call someone with Office Comunicator and actually hear the partner on the OC?

    Any suggestions appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

  • Max,

there's an important difference between remote call control- and media-gateways.

The ESTOS CCG "software" provides remote call control functionality to control and monitor your PBX's system-phones.
To use the OC as a softphone it's mandatory to use a MS certified "hardware" media gateway ( (registration/configuration for this so called "Enterprise Voice" scenario is done in the mediation server) which supports the voice codec translation from your Aastra Box's world  (TDM or IP) to the OC's codec. A media gateway we can recommend for the existing PBX world is e.g. the DMG 3000 from Dialogic. This works well in combination with the ESTOS CCG, also in more sophisticated scenarios with forking etc. .

Don't hesitate to contact ESTOS directly, if you need more information (info(at)estos.de) ,
