One way connection problem. RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I've just started using Mesh and I've found an issue. I only seem to be able to connect one way. From my office to home works fine, but if I try and connect from home to the office the computer just sits on the connection screen them times out.

Another coworker can actually connect both ways, from home to work and from work to home.

I also don't think it's a firewall issue as the rules appear correct and I've also turned both off and the problem persists.

Anyone have any ideas? Installation problems perhaps?

  • When you installed on the work machine, did you install as administrator? Did you install the enhancements for Remote Desktop on the work machine?

What is the OS on the machines, and what firewall(s) are you using? Does your co-worker's setup that allows RD from home to work match yours?

  • On my work machine I did install as Admin. I'm not sure I installed the enhancements for remote desktop. I'll give that a go. The OS on all machines is XP SP3.

Also, I've noticed that since installing Live Mesh, IE7 on my home PC keeps crashing. If not used for a couple of minutes it will just hang. I have to use the Program Manager to close it.

I'll keep you posted with progress.

    Cheers

  •   Please do keep us posted. I don't believe that the IE7 crashing issue would be related, though anything is possible. I would remove any add-ins you have installed as that is the most common reason for IE crashes.
