Certificate Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two WHS servers, both legal.  One for the home, the other for testing.  My computer is a member of the home WHS.  When I need to administer the test WHS I use Remote Desktop Connection.  I get an error: "The identify of the remote computer cannot be verified.  Do you want to connect anyway?" And "The certificate or associated chain is invalid (Code: 0x 100000".  I can still connect anyway.  I do not get this error for the home WHS or any other computer.  I have done at least 3 full installs and still get the error.  Why do I get this error and how do I fix it?

  • When you install the connector on a computer a certificate is also installed; among other things that certificate prevents the error you're currently seeing when you connect to your test server. The certificate isn't signed by a recognized Certificate Authority, thus the error. So the error that you're seeing is valid, but in this context it's harmless. You should simply ignore it.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
