A message has a "vote as helpful" rating of -1 RRS feed

  • Question

The post is from Ssnake in this thread.

I tried to vote it as helpful.  It was taking too long to complete (but the message was still greyed out), so I clicked on a post a few above to vote it as helpful.  The second post got marked immediately, but the post from Ssnake didn't.  I refreshed the page and tried again.  I got an "unexpected error" popup (IE8, Win7 x64 RTM) after I tried to click the vote button.  I refreshed the page and tried again, got the same error.  I refreshed the page again, and this time I noticed that it has a vote of -1.

Can't have a lower score than zero in the current system, so please have someone take a look at this.

We've had this reported here before about six months ago.

As soon as the poster reported it and tried to use the same "technique" to get -2, the count went back to 0.

In other words it's a *very* irregular event and to my mind not worth spending many resources on (and certainly not worth posting twice about :) )

  • As I've learned from forum member derosnec, if you right click on the vote as helpful button and press open in new tab, you'll get a vote as helpful page for that post with a checkbox marked "Is Helpful", if you click Submit without the box checked , it results in a for the post.

Hope this helps fix this bug....

  • There are still -1 as helpful posts. Why? Will this be fixed?

quit being a crybaby.    you need thicker skin, bud.  we both earned -1 there.

look how blissful Drew was in his thread.  then sourpuss Defcon came in with his humff.  it would have just stood as comic relief if you could just have let it alone.  is that all it takes to provoke you, Ziegler?  more pointedly, is that what you're just waiting for, a chance at that?

not that i was any better.  next i stepped in to retaliate you.  i think maybe i regret it.  maybe.  because aside from your talented helpfulness here, you are among the most consistently continuously arrogantly self-proposing credit-seeking members on this site.  why don't you tone it down, Ziegler.

i'll eventually go back and delete my posts there, when the dust settles.  you should too.
