This computer is not running genuine Windows RRS feed

  • Question

  • This is the second computer in the last two weeks that has given us an issue out of the 350 computers we have running at this site.  I was able to get the last one resolved with help from this site.  This is the same make/model of pc as that last one, so I attempted all of the same steps I did for the last occurrence, but it has not resolved this one.

I first ran a CHKDSK C: /R and let that run

I then ran a SFC /SCANNOW and that ran with no issues.

I then updated the Intel Rapid Storage Tech driver from here. . . https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=22194

Then, the last thing I did was a NET STOP CRYPTSVC, REN C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CATROOT2 CAT2OLD, NET START CRYPTSVC

After waiting 2 hours, I rebooted the machine and allowed the user to use it again.  He said that he received the "This computer is not running genuing Windows" message again.  I do not know what to do next.

Here is the most recent MGADiag info"

  • The applied fixes obviously achieved something - the system is showing as genuine and activated :)

    Are you still seeing notifications?

  • I made these changes and the user told me that he was still having issues.  I have been out the last couple of days and I haven't heard from him, so I just checked for an update.  Maybe he was mistaken when he told me that he was still having the issues.
