Off topic - How to disable anti virus temporarily to install audio driver? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have Windows XP Home and have had problems keeping the audio driver working. I have uninstalled and reinstalled freshly downloaded Realtek AC97 audio drivers, and they work for a while, but within a few days there is no sound.
When I try to insalll the driver, I now get a Windows warning that says without the Windows Logo testing stamp, i could be destabilizing my computer now or in the future. I would appreciate any help on this.
    thanks.

  • You're off topic for this forum, which is dedicated to Windows Live OneCare. You may want to try the Windows XP newsgroups here: http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/Default.aspx or Relatek support.

To answer the question in your subject line, just in case it is a OneCare related question, open OneCare, change settings, antivirus and spyware tab - disable.
