  • I had the same problem and had a rather simple solution that I don't know if you've already done... but you can try anyways.

     

    Right click on your "My Computer" / "Computer" icon and select properties. Scroll down and the last header, which should be "Windows activation". Mine said "You have 21 days to activate windows..." and you need to activate it here. After activation yo ucan then go through the "redeem" webpage.

     

    I thought that the activex control I had to installed automatically validated my windows but guess not! Hope this helps.
