  • What is the maximum number of sockets and cores that HPC Pack 2012 R2 Update 3 and HPC Pack 2016 can accommodate, and where is that information available?

  • Hi Thomas,

There is no limit for the number of cores and sockets per node.

We used to have an issue for nodes with more than 64 cores, the issue is only for MPI jobs, and it had been fixed as you mentioned.

  • Hi Thomas,

What size of cluster you're looking for to build? We have tested 5K nodes, and 10K cores. If you have needs beyond this, you need work closely with us.

  • Dear Quifang,

Thanks for responding. I can see that my question was not specific enough.

I was looking for maximum number of cores and sockets per node.

In the information for one of the patches to Windows HPC Pack 2012 R2 Update 3 a maximum number of 64 cores per node is mentioned. But I could not elsewhere find any information on whether such a limit exists, and if the limit is changing with HPC Pack version.

    Best regard,
    Thomas
