Live Mesh is dead to new users

Question
-
Customer installed Live Mesh last night, when I try to connect to their machines this morning, I get a;
"Thank you for your interest in Live Mesh beta. We are no longer accepting participants in the Live Mesh beta, but you can install Windows Live Mesh 2011."
Problem is customer is on XP, so thats a no go.
Will see if we can log him into another existing account to work on his machine.

You can no longer sign up for the current Live Mesh beta with a new LiveID. Existing LiveIDs already using the beta can install and reinstall for now.

Stephen,
Is this posted somewhere? I looked through a couple of pages of posts and the blog and found nothing.
We had them connect through an existing account to get them running, do we also need to start keeping a copy of mesh.exe for the future or look for an alternative for XP users?

Hi, Jeff. As far as I know, it is only posted on the main Live Mesh page as you go to sign in - www.mesh.com - not clearly, though.
It is also within a few other threads. I guess it may be sensible to post an announcement here at the very least...

is Windows Live Mesh 2011 the previous sync just renamed? Or the same as mesh beta?
I find the mesh beta works much better than sync , so dont want to loose it

Windows Live Mesh is a new product. Users of Live Mesh or the previous Live Sync will need to reconfigure their sync relationships. In effect there are 3 services. The newest, Windows Live Mesh, uses the back end architecture/design of Mesh beta in a new environment and a new, simpler client. There are, however, some features that people will miss with Windows Live Mesh if they were using either Live Mesh or Live Sync.
