one care renewed but computer still says expired RRS feed

  • Question

  • It has been a day since I renewed one care and my computer still says (after a restart) that it is expired.  Why?  What to do?

  • If it has been more than 24 hours, first try this:

Open OneCare, click on Check for Updates.

If that doesn't update the subscription status, then

    • Check your PC date and time.
    • Check your subscription status by logging in with your subscription LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com
    • Confirm that this is the same LiveID shown to be the Subscription ID in OneCare - Help/About...

If your subscription is correctly shown at the Billing site, but incorrect in OneCare and your PC date and time are correct, please contact support.

  • Steve, thanks for taking the time to offer your help.  It has been several hours more than 24 hours and even with a restart the onecare icon is still red and when I open Onecare it still says the service has expired.   I checked for updates a couple of times and it says it is up to date.  My PC time and date are correct.  When I log in with my liveID it says Onecare is enabled.  I couldn't read all of your last suggestion because it was cut off but I have only the one LiveID.  Any other ideas?  Thanks, Mike R.

  • I got hold of Tech Support and I ended up uninstalling the original installation of OneCare and installing the new one and everything worked out OK.  Thank you again for your help, Steve.
