Query regarding screenshots of IIS in user manual for our clients RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have a  product with client-server architecture with its server components residing in IIS. We plan to provide documentation of our product to our clients. As a part of the documentation, we intend to send user manuals with screenshots of IIS for setting up of the following:

    1. Handler mappings in IIS,

    2. Adding MIME Types for certain types of files,

    3. Configuring Authentication & Authorizations, etc.

I wanted to know if it is illegal / copyright violation if we capture screenshots of IIS in our user manuals.

We do have licensed copies of Microsoft products (including IIS) on our licensed Windows environment and the clients will also have licensed copies of the same in their environments.

    Thanks & Regards,
