  • Yes, absolutely. Please be sure to follow http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-sql-server.aspx.

You can gather your previous experience in SQL 2005, so if you were a DB Developer, you can take the 70-454 to get the SPQ 2008 MCITP Developer.

  • Hi,

there is no newer exam than this 70-433. But for windows server 2008 Microsoft updated the existing exams to contain R2 questions so I would be aware what was changed in 2008 R2 in case the exam was changed to cover R2, too. (But I think there wasn't so much new features with 2008R2 in SQL Server. At least no major rework as it was done in some parts of windows server.

    With kind regards,

    Konrad

  • Thanks for the info guys..I think I will start with 433 and after that will give 454..or if possible will directly approach 454 :)

There's no point in doing 70-433 and 70-454.

70-454 is an upgrade exam (2005 to 2008). This exam contains content from exams 70-433 and 70-451 and is an easier path to take if you already hold the 2005 Developer certification as it only covers new features and changes in 2008. Once you pass this exam, you get the Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Database Developer 2008 certification.

If you want to go down the 70-433 path, the next exam you should sit is 70-451.  Passing these two exams will also give you the Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Database Developer 2008 certification.
