Any tool to get the details of the CRM 2013 instance? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am trying to analyze a CRM 2013 instance where I want to find out the details of it.

Is there any tool by which we could get the details of a CRM 2013 instance? Like the list of Custom entities, Java Scripts, Web Resources, Plug-in's, Workflows etc. used in the instance.

Any help to achieve this is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Srinivas K

  • Hi Srinivas,

There is a legacy feature check and Custom Code Validation Tool which is from MS, below is the download url for legacy feature check.

Go for legacy feature check it is simple to run on CRM instead of Custom Code Validation tool.

    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=309565

To apply : please have look in below blog.

  • You can use the CRM Diagnostic Tool that can be downloaded from Codeplex.  This is the same tool Microsoft tech support will have you run when you submit a ticket.

    http://crmdiagtool2011.codeplex.com/

Run it and choose the troubleshooting file tab at the top and generate a report.  As long as you are a deployment admin, it will pull all the environment information for the CRM environment.

It should list out the plugins.  At least it did with the 4.0 tool.  It will also provide a lot of detail that you may not expect.

It will not list out the jscript files on the forms though

  • Hi Srinivas,

    what about this: https://xrmtoolbox.codeplex.com/
This is compatible with crm 2013 and 2011.

    There you have many Tools.
One of them ist "Metadata Document Generator".
With this, you can extract all the entities, Fields in Entities incl. Show on which forms are thes fields, an if picklist incl. the picklistvalues and much more.

    maybe you searched this Infos?!
