Photo file formats backed up RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I happened to notice that under "Configure Backup", if I "view all files within a type", under "Photos", all I see is jpg files. I have a lot of .png files that are not listed. Aren't they be included in a backup?

    Thanks

  • According to this documentation, .png files are not included in the list of file types that are backed up, but will be included in the category of “other files” since that category will include any file types that are not included in the list of excluded file types, or in the list of included file types. The list of backed-up file types that appears in this document should thus not be taken as inclusive, since the file types included in the “other files” category will also be backed up, but not under a specific category. This means that .png files should in fact be included in the backup as “other files”: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943776
