Renew OneCare subscription RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought the Windows Live OneCare Service Desk Edition on December 2007. The suscription came with 12 months of updates to all OneCare components and features. Now there is a message that tells me that the OneCare protection for this PC has ended. Renew your subscription now to help protect your PC and files. I bought the software six months ago, I don't know why this is happening can you help me? How can I know exactly the date that my subscription expires (and when started)... thank you very much...

Answers

  • If your subscription to OneCare shows expired in OneCare

    • Check your PC date and time.
    • Check your subscription status by logging in with your subscription LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com
    • Confirm that this is the same LiveID shown to be the Subscription ID in OneCare - Help/About…
    • Open OneCare and click "Check for Updates" to have OneCare check for updated credentials

If your subscription is correctly shown at the Billing site, but incorrect in OneCare and your PC date and time are correct, please contact support.

  • To check the status of your One Care subscription go to Member Accounts - http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/members/default.htm and use the link under Manage Your Subscription to "View or update your account or billing information". Sign in using the Live ID and password used to set up your account and you should be able to verify your account status. Most often the cause of premature expiration notices is an incorrect date or time on your computer.

  • Hi!

I think I have the same problem : since this morning it says my computer is not protected anymore, and I have to renew. But my renewal was on march 2008, as written on Onecare's window itself. If I click on the "renew" button, it says my account can't be renewed because it has been suspended or cancelled!!

I checked my computer time, but both windows and the BIOS are OK.

    Please someone help us!!
