Windows 7 suddenly no longer genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently bought a computer with Windows 7 on it, the computer is a little slow on bootup but overall is great. Now, I used it this morning with no problems but now when I log on, it suddenly says that it is no longer valid.

    Here is the information:

  • Unfortunately, the PC has a counterfeit copy of Windows 7 Ultimate installed.  You will need to purchase a genuine "Full Version" of Windows and perform a "clean install".  You can purchase genuine Windows software from the Microsoft Store.

You can also try:  Request Backup Discs

  • 1) there is an Activation Exploit present - RemoveWAT - which has been detected.

    2) Your system shipped with Windows Vista installed - probably Home Premium - and that is all it's licensed for, unless you also have the  proper Key and packaging from any upgrade that's been applied.

You should attempt to claim at least a partial refund from the vendor, and report them for piracy to the authorities and to Microsoft

You should reformat and reinstall using the manufacturer's Recovery media for your machine - contact Dell/Alienware for details.

If you want to continue using Windows 7 you will have to purchase either an Upgrade or Full license
