Validated OK, but message on ToolBar RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello:

I use an Office 2003 from an Action Pack Subscription (active at this time). It's validated OK, but I have a message on the ToolBar saying that's not original.

I reinstalled, tried with another PID Key from the 5 that I have and the message stays!

    Sorry for my bad English!

    This is the WGADiag information:

  • Hi Juan,

You can try this to see if the message can go away.

    1. Log on to the computer by using an Administrator user account.
    2. Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
    3. On the "Tools" menu, click "Folder Options".
    4. Click the "View" tab.
    5. Under "Hidden files and folders", click "Show hidden files and folders".
    6. Click to clear the "Hide extensions for known file types" check box, and then click "OK".
    7. Open the following folder and we will find the file named "data.dat"

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Office Genuine Advantage\data

    8. Find the file named "data.dat", right-click it and then click "Properties".
    9. In the "General" tab, Attributes section, clear the "Read-only" check box
    10. Click the "Security" tab.
    11. Click "Advanced".
    12. Click the "Permissions" tab.
    13. Click to select "Everyone" in the Permission entries list, and then click "Edit".
    14. Click to select the "Full Control" check box.
    15. Click "OK" three times.

  • Thanks for your response.

I make it so, and re-validated Office. The MGADiag says all is genuine (note that I installed Office 2007 too), but in the two Office (2003 and 2007) I still having the annoying Toolbar.

Also I see that the data.dat file grows from 0 to 3.3KBytes.

    Best regards!

    I paste the WGADiag:

  • Hello:

I activated the administrator user and run the tool from the web. With the administrator user I don't have the toolbar, but with my usual user (with administrator right) the toolbar remains.

Maybe I delete the user and create another one or open a support incident, when I have more time to lose. But this dissapoint me so mutch.

Thanks for your time, and sorry, another time, for my bad English!
