Hi Ann,
maybe you want to have a closer look at the Visual Studio certifications that you can find at http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-vstudio.aspx.
But the exams are either in c# or in VB.Net so it is not a 100% fit to your experience.
I would even suggest to at least read about the 70-536 stuff so you learn more about the .Net Framework which offers much much more than the very limited Java framework. (Ok. J2EE offers much more than the J2SE - but don't start a discussion about that! But I just saw to often people grabbing some 3rd party libraries for stuff that is available inside .Net already!)
And one thing is important: You need experience to pass the exams. So if you simply do not have experience so far, you should spend a lot of time playing around with the technology of the exams so you get some more experience!
With kind regards,
Konrad

With basic knowledge in C, java and SQL, I suggest that you go for MCTS in ASP .NET certificate (70-515 TS: Web Applications Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4)
Buy a self pace guide and a transcender package for 70-515 to study and do all of the labs in the self pace book. That way, you will gain knowledge in .Net and have knowledge in implementing .NET to what you know before.

I agree, that the self-paced training kit is a good start. But if the 70-515 or 70-511 is best is always a personal preferal. If Ann likes to write web applications, 70-515 is good. If Desktop Applications are prefered, then I would not start with 70-515 and would take 70-511 instead.
And when doing the labs in the book: REally extend it. Quickly doing the labs is not really giving you the experience you need. So really make sure to play around and have a closer look at the possibilities of the different classes used in the labs!
With kind regards,
Konrad

Hi,
Thanks for the response.I just finished doing Introduction to C# programing. Will that be helpful or do I need a deeper knowledge in C#?
thanks,
Ann

Ann i will recommend you to pass MTA (Microsoft Technology Associate) certification first that will help you out in moving further with Microsoft Certifications. Then you can go further with visual studio certifications and C# certifications that will help you out.
