Name display on Nortel TDM sets - internal calls RRS feed

  • Question

  • OCS R2, Nortel Option 61, Mediant 1000 gateway

We have a mix of OCS clients and users who are still using their Nortel TDM sets. For internal calls in any direction, the OCS clients always display a name or name and number. However, the TDM sets always show either just the number dialed or else 'H+extension'. I've read elsewhere on the forum that there was a fix coming for this issue. Anyone know if this has happened as yet -- or a possible workaround.

  • No native work around at present but I think the fix is coming at the end of this month, fingers crossed. There are some gateway vendors offering a work around but at this stage the R2 fix is on its wayand it may just be worth waiting for the fix. Most likely will require a patch to front ends and mediation server.

  • This is some that MS is working on.  Initially it was to be released with OCS wave 14 but should be out sooner.  Meanwhile for users with TDM stations, you could use the Digit Manipulation table within the AC Mediant to provide the correct format or your can enable the full SIP E.164 format for your end users.

  • This issue is resolved with July rollup patches for OCS R2. it requires patching on front ends and mediation server. Please read the following link for changes required on the mediation server:

Were you able to follow the link you provided and get that patch to work the way it says on the page? After doing the patch, we never saw the 'MediationServerSvc.exe.config' in c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007\Mediation Server. Let me know if you had a different result.

  • The patch alone wont create the .conf file. Please follow the KB article this shows how to create the file for outbound caller name.

    This should fix your issue.

I also talk about it here on my blog
