    Thanks :)
At least this time there's only the one file involved <g>

Try a System Restore back to about the 25th Jan (or slightly earlier)  if you can - reboot again when complete, and see if the notification goes away. Run MGADiag and have a look to see if the mismatches have gone.

If that doesn't work, or fails to fix the problem - or you don't want to use it, try a System File Checker - it will attempt to replace the broken file and any others it finds.
    System File Checker - Instructions
    Click on the Start button
    type in the Search  box
    CMD.EXE
right-click on the only file that is found
    Select Run as Administrator
     - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up
    At the Command prompt, type

    SFC   /SCANNOW

    and hit the Enter key
Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.

run another MGADiag report, and post the results.

Under normal circumstances I'd advise you to copy the affected file from another machine - but that may not be a good idea in this case <g>

You can try extracting it from the DVD (you may well have to do the actual swapping of files while in Safe Mode to avoid problems with System File Protection)

  • No - just on this machine for the moment (one thing at a time!)

There's only one file that needs replacing here -

    C:\Windows\system32\slui.exe

The Tampered File reference is to the same file, just through a different route (hence the addition of the |slui.exe.mui| section - in case there's multiple languages on the machine).

  • No activity in this thread for 8 days.

I assume the issue was somehow resolved.
