  • Question

  • Anyone else having problems logging into and accessing the MCP site (mcp.microsoft.com)?

I have been getting gateway timeout and strange errors for the past week.

  • All,

Although it is very annoying that the MCP site has issues we cannot solve these issues at this forum.

This forum is NOT monitored by Microsoft staff. Calling your Microsoft Regional support center might be the best way to bring this to their attention.

  • I am able to access MCP site. Once I was also getting some errors then I just tried Chrome Browser and was able to login from there. Try different browser it may work.

  • Unfortunately yes. We regulary register issues not only with MCP site, but Partners/Support site as well.

I've called MS customer service and they've told me that they do not have any contacts to team, that takes care about their web and recommended me to use forums to report it. No comment.

  • I have the same problem. They really need to fix this!! I need to be able to access MCP site.

I did a post on borntolearn forum about the issues, no respone, also asked for help on twitter, no respone there either. https://t.co/ujHKPqSLuw

    This is what I wrote...

    Hi.

I have for almost two months been trying to access https://mcp.microsoft.com and https://www.microsoft.com/learning/dashboard/default.aspx. I always get gateway timeouts or proxy errors as soon I have logged in. I have tried this on several computers, phones, tablets and different internet connection (work/home/4g/3g), all fails. My colleagues got the same problem.

I've had no problems to access the site in the past. The strange thing is that I can access site https://mycertificationplanner.one.microsoft.com/ and see my login and my MCSA, MCSE etc.

Is there known problems to access sites from Sweden? I have tried everything I can from my side, and seeing I am not alone I guess this is a wider problem.

    Help needed! Thanks!

  • I feel your pain! We'have been communicating with MS support about this but that's like speaking to a 3 year old about computers :)

  • Problem has been reported - reference issue ID S201507010521074926

I will let you know as soon as I get any response.

I wonder they do not monitor website availability. I will offer them a help with SCOM monitoring configuration next time :)

  • Have you got any update on the issue?

  • I did manage to logon to my account recently after constant of failures due to proxy time out.

This is roughly what i did:

    1. Log on to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/account/ and changed my password
    2. Sign out from  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/account/  (Make sure ur logged out otherwise next step will fail with the proxy timeout error)
    3. Browse to https://mcp.microsoft.com/. If your signed out you should get the page telling you "Welcome to the Microsoft Certification Member Site" Instead of using the "Sign in" button at the middle of the page press "Help"
    4. This is the strange part....notice that in the top corner to the right it says "Sign out" this means your already signed in even thought you logged out in step 1.
    5. Now press "Your benefits and exams"....If your profile is missing some information (In my case i had no country selected) fill it in.
    6. Viola your now in and you should see your transcripts etc
This doesn't work. I were a bit skeptic when I read the instructions but since you proposed it as an answer yourself I went through all the steps.
