2nd drive still should be smaller than 1st?

Question
-
When I build my home server long, long ago I remember that the OS disk (first disk) needed to be the larger disk due to the "landing zone" and the way duplication worked. So I have a 750 GB disk 1 and a 250 GB disk 2. Now I have a 1 TB to replace the 250 GB disk. So I added it to the pool and I'm in the process of removing the 250 GB drive from the pool. And suddenly I remembered the "bigger disk" thing.
Somewhere in my mind, though, I seem to recall that WHS doesn't do duplication the same way any longer and that this is no longer an issue.
So, I'm looking for some clarification, please?
Thanks!

It still does duplication the same way, but there's no "landing zone" any more, so using a larger second (or third, etc.) disk isn't a problem.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)- Proposed as answer by kariya21Moderator Thursday, June 17, 2010 4:43 AM

Thanks!Well, I can tell you what I have in my setup, but I wouldn't take that
as clarification.System Disk (Primary Hard drive) is an 80GB Drive 20G for System and the
rest for Data
2nd Internal is a 250GB Drive
3rd Internal is a 320GB Drive
2 Externals which are 320GB USB Drives
1 External which is a 1TB USB Drive
1 External which is a 250GB USB DriveSo, I'm not sure if the old rule still applies. I would say that the
first drive must be larger than 20GB, in order to accommodate the system
and the first portion of the Data drive. However I would take the
advice of Ken or Kariya (forgive me if I mistyped your name) over
mine--as they've been here longer.Have a great day:)

No problem. Besides, you got it right. (And you wouldn't have been the first person to misspell my user name anyway - not to mention some people that have gotten my gender wrong :) ).

The best is to have the first (OS) hdisk as big as possible. It's the one that is rather hard to replace. So if you want to replace a hdisk to get more storage it is way easier to replace a non OS hdisk.
This all has no impact on duplication however.
