  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have a requirement to move whole data from one CRM 2011 organization to another CRM 2011 organization . The data is present in huge amounts (5000+) for many entities. Which will be best solution to do the migration:

    1. DB to DB data migration using SSIS Package.

    2. Scribe

    3. CSV files

    4. Configuration Migration Tool

Please guide on this how to proceed further.

  • Hello,

I would suggest to user SSIS because there is free adapter available - http://www.kingswaysoft.com/products/ssis-integration-toolkit-for-microsoft-dynamics-crm

  • Hi Andrii,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I integrated kingswaysoft and tried creating SSIS package. I have few questions in mind :

    1. The Destination Organization created through deployment manager have different GUID than source Organization GUID. First, I start with Importing Users. When i import Users. It gives me error :

systemuser With Id = dc2e8bb2-7d70-e411-bb9a-000c29cf0d26 Does Not Exist.

Why it is not creating Users ?

Then i will continue with main entities like accounts, contants b'coz they have lookup to users.

And I want all GUID's should be same for the records created.

    Please guide.

  • Tanu,

Check also COZYROC SSIS+ library which also includes Dynamics CRM adapters. One-time migrations are completely free.

  • It sounds like it would be easier to simply back up the organization database and restore it to the new location and import it into CRM through the deployment manager.  By far less time consuming than using a third party tool to migrate the data.

  • Hi,

Agree with Jason. If you want to have 100% data from one organisation to another one, best is to take a copy of the database and restore the database in the new organisation. When you restore the database using deployment manager, you will have to map the users to current AD users.

    Hope this helps.
