RichCopy & WHs RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All

can RichCopy be installed & run in WHS?
I noted Ken Warren uses Robocopy & it seems RichCopy is a more advanced uptodate version of Robocopy.

  • Robocopy is a command line tool. There's a GUI front end that someone at Microsoft put together a couple of years ago, but the tool has been around for a very long time. It offers quite a bit of control of the copy process, including verification, restart, etc. options.

Richcopy offers more granular control of the file copy operations than robocopy, but in my experience most people don't need that additional granularity. Otherwise the two tools seem to work about equally well.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
