Custom entity RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have created a custom entity named "mailbox".
It has a lookup to the contact entity (this represents a owner).
Now I would like to have a dropdownlist with all the owners on the active mailbox view, when selecting a name I want to see only the mailbox records that are owned by this person.

How can I add this dropdownlist?

    Thx.

  • Ok.

You can not customize the default MS CRM workarea page. That is not "Supported" customization in MS CRM.
What I would recommend is that you build your own custom page that does exactly what you've stated, using Visual Studio.

You can add a link to this page from workplace by customizing the SiteMap.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hope I understood your question right.

So you want to display all "Mailboxes" associated with a contact on the contact form in a dropdown.

In which case I recommend two solutions.

1- Add an IFrame and display all assocaited "MailBoxes" in a grid. Will save you some javascript coding will make it easy for users to add mailboxes from the contact form. The URL below will help you set this up.

2- Your next option is to dynamically add all associated active mailboxes using AJAX on a contact form. The URL below will help you get started.

  • No I would like to go to Workplace > mailbox entity. Hier Ill see a list of all mailboxes, on this page I would like to add a dropdownlist between the search textbox and the "View" dropdownlist, with all the existing contacts.

When selecting one contact ill see only the associating records.

So I dont want to go to the contact form or someting else, but just go to the mailbox entity list view.
