The company where this CRM is running is heavily "siloed" -- vertical security where each business unit wishes to seclude its data from all the others. That's fine and I've set that up.
However, there are a few players who have been invited to participate in another BU's soiree. I'm pretty sure it can't be done but I need to ask, can I effect some arrangement where a user is seemingly in two BU's in terms of access privileges? By that I am excluding the solution of managing a blizzard of record sharing.
PS- sure would be nice if one could assign a unit-A inherited role to a unit-B user! But even if that would work it would be a data base hack.
The only way to do this is to have a Parent BU and place the two BU's under the Parent. The few players that need access to both BU's can then be given Parent / Child rights on the BU's.Best Regards,
Donna
