On Demand Service? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm investigating if there is a way to start a com+ on demand service that starts up in response to a WMI event but with no code running when the service is in sleep state. Initially my thought on this was to have a small stub running that listens for the WMI events and on the event calls into the Com+ on demand service, thereby starting the service and the appropriate function.... But we would prefer to actually not have anything running at all.

Perhaps there is a way to register the com+ on demand service function and have an OS service do the call that starts it up?  I've seen some old samples of SENS that suggest this could happen but all the code is to old to work now.

So is there anything in Sync Framework that can help with this and/or is there a better forum to ask this in ?

Thanks for your polite thoughtful responses,

  • nothing on Sync Framework to help you with your scenario.

I suggest you post it on a different forum (not sure which one too)
