While Recording the Lead can make customization to use existing company names in CRM at the time of lead capturing ?

Maybe you want to create a Lead Company Name Entity and then add it to the Lead form as a lookup. It is not something I would do but I am having a little challenge trying to follow what you need.
It sounds like you don't want duplicated company names associated with Lead records and you want to give the users a list of Company names to choose from when they enter a Lead record. If that assumption is correct, then I would create a Company Name entity, make a relationship to the Lead entity, add the Company Name lookup field to the Lead entity and let the user search for the Company Name to add to the Lead record or create a new Company Name record if the correct one is not available and associate the new record to the Lead.

You'll want to create a duplicate detection rule on the Lead Company Name so when a user tries to enter a duplicate Lead they receive an alert. If you are using the Import Wizard to add the Leads then ensure you have the Do Not create Duplicates checked during the import process.

Thanks Edward
Duplicate Detection Rule is OK, but i want to give flexibility to my Sales Agents so that they can have access to already availble companies and i think drop down selection is the better option or may be if google suggest style selection works...
My concern is How can i give this flexibility to for my agent so that they don't need to type the company name altogether...at the time of lead entry.

Hi Edward,
Thanks for your response you got me right gr8. and i understand what you have suggested
>It sounds like you don't want duplicated company names associated with Lead records and you want to give the users a list of Company names to >choose from when they enter a Lead record. If that assumption is correct, then I would create a Company Name entity, make a relationship to >the Lead entity, add the Company Name lookup field to the Lead entity and let the user search for the Company Name to add to the Lead record >or create a new Company Name record if the correct one is not available and associate the new record to the Lead.
Now after all above I want the same Company Entitiy's Name should be copied to Account Name while converting the lead to Opportunity...how will i be able to do that ? because right now it copies Company Name text box from lead to account.
How should we prohibit CRM to create duplicate Company name while creating accounts ? because i have seen crm creating same company name twice with two leads have same company name ?

Hi,
I'm glad we are on the right track.
1.Now after all above I want the same Company Entitiy's Name should be copied to Account Name while converting the lead to Opportunity...how will i be able to do that ? because right now it copies Company Name text box from lead to account.
You'll want to replace the Company Name field on the Account with the same lookup field to your new Company Name entity and then map that field from the Lead to the Account. You'll need to first create the relationship between the Account and Company Name entity.
2 How should we prohibit CRM to create duplicate Company name while creating accounts ? because i have seen crm creating same company name twice with two leads have same company name
If you use the above approach, this should minimize if not eliminate the issue with duplicates. Create a Duplicate Detection rule on the Company Name entity so users will receive a notification if a Company Name that they are trying to create already exists.

Hi Sheraz,
CRM is a robust application and I am continually learning new things. If you look at my blog, I have a list of CRM books on the left side and a list of video tutorials on the right navigation panel. If you are a MS Partner, then you should be able to access Microsoft Learning where you can find all the CRM training, onsite, online, etc.
I think if you select a couple of the books, and go through the tutorials, you will be in good shape. Check out the Resource Center from the CRM application as well, there is a ton of great information.

I dont want to create company entity.
1 - I have all my records in Accounts already. which are basically all the companies with different industries and account types.
2 - I like to re-use those account name which will serve as company name in Lead entry.
As In few cases i am getting new lead from the companies whose account is already acreated in accounts. that is the reason i like to replace comapny name text box in lead with account's name lookup.

If you want a Account record lookup on the Lead form then you will need to create a new Relationship between Leads and Accounts. You will then have an Account lookup field that you can add to the Lead form.
have a look in CRM help for more information about entity relationships.

Just like you to review following:
i am skipping lead form in my on premises version.
we will record all the companies in accounts ( with status of lead, prospects, customer...)
we will directly go to record opportunity recording..
is that okay strategey ?
Thanks

It sounds fine if you don't believe you have a need for Lead records at this time. You can always use them later if you discover a need.
