reinstallation of xp

Question

Hi
We have been recycling computers from are local authority (Warwickshire UK) for some years now these computers are given to good causes or charities . Up to now they have been windows 2000 based unit which we have had no problems in wiping the drives with a "killdisk" program and reinstalling the win2000 software from an image then validating with the product key on the Microsoft sticker.
Now we are starting to receive XP based machines and we are not sure of the correct and proper procedure to wipe and reinstall XP whilst still being able to activate them with the original product key from the sticker (we need to keep it all legal and above board) .
Most of the machines say 60% or so are dell computers of all ages and different service packs and then there is an array of different manufacture models Toshiba IBM etc.
Can you help?
Ps. We have to destroy any personal or classified data on the disk.

Nigel,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Forum. The purpose of this forum is the support of Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) program. Your question is off topic as well as outside my area of knowledge. I suggest posting your question to one of the Office newsgroups here: Discussions in Windows XP General
If you should have other non-WGA questions please visit our other communities for helpful information here: http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/community.mspx . Please keep in mind that experts can retrieve software under some very ardous circumstances so please be sure that your "killdisk" will totally wipe away any possibility of data being retrieved. Next I would encourage you to please research the End Users Licensing Agreement (EULA) before reformatting and distributing to ensure all your bases are covered :-). Thank you for visiting the forum.
Have a great day,
