Missing parent account field RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm not sure if anyone will be able to help, but we've just signed up with a 30 day trial of the CRM system, and we're trying to figure out if it can do what we need it to do.

In the user guide, it says that we can create an account as a 'Parent Account' and then add 'Sub-accounts' which is exactly what we need. However, when I have gone to try to create an account, the 'Parent Account' lookup field does not appear.

Any ideas why this is not appearing, and why I can't create this type of account?

  • It sounds like you have the new "process" type forms which probably don't match the user guide.

    If so...

    • Open an Account record and click the "..." menu at the top and pick Form Editor
    • Click in the section you want the field to go to select it and then from the right side, find the Parent Account field and double click it to place it in the section (or you can drag and drop the field to the section).
    • Select Navigation from the top
    • Click in the section you want the sub account section to show in to select it, find Account from the right side and double click to place
    • Save from the top
    • Publish from the top
    • Close the window

Now you should be able to set a parent account and see sub account if you expand the left navigation
