CRM 2011 can't customize in IE9 on Win2K8 R2 SP1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Are there any special IE9 security settings required to get CRM2011 form and view customizations to work in IE9 on Win2K8?  I can't customize the schema from any of four Win2K8 R2 SP1 boxes using IE9, yet it works fine from my Win7 laptop using IE9.

On all of my Win2K8 servers, the form customization screen show the ribbon, but the form appears blank, as does the field list.  On the views, when you click "Add Columns" the dialog pops, but no fields are listed.  I've tried from 4 servers running the latest updates, and I can't customize forms or views.

I have tried adding CRM to the Local zone and I tried the Trusted zone, but the customizations still don't work.  Is there a special setting required for IE9 on Win2K8 so that CRM 2011 customizations work?

    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Hi,

Open Server Manager -> Configure IE ESC -> choose Off option for both Administrators and Users and restart IE after that.

    This worked for me...

  • Hi Mike,

I would suggest you to try accessing CRM form designer or other customization tools via client operating system. Also try Reset Internet Explorer settings or debug with Developer Tools (Hit F12  key and try to diagnose the issue)

Yes, as I said, it works from a client.  The problem is it doesn't work from any of the servers.  It's not the end of the world, but it is a PITA.  Good call on the dev tools.  I do get an error on the form page:

SCRIPT16389: The stylesheet does not contain a document element. The stylesheet may be empty, or it may not be a well-formed XML document

    global.ashx?ver=-1205129371, line 6 character 230090

I don't get any javascript errors on the view customization.
