Windows 10 File Access Permissions and SyncToy RRS feed

  • Question

  • I thought I had SyncToy 2.1 working to synchronize files between two computers on a Windows 10 Homegroup network but it all fell apart. SyncToy can determine the differences between the folders on the two computers and can pull files from the network computer. But when a file has to be pushed to the network computer, an Access Denied error results in no transfer. If the left folders are on the network and the right folders are on the local computer, files will move from left to right but not from right to left. I think that I have the folders on both computers set to share with Everybody in the HomeGroup.

Has anyone managed to make SyncToy transfer files in both directions using Windows 10?
