after reformating hard drive, reinstallation of office 2003 gives "invalid product key" error on validation RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had windows 64bit xp installed with office 2003 on a laptop. I was not happy with the compatibility of the 64bit xp so I reformated the hard drive & installed 32bit xp & tried to reinstall my Offfice 2003. When trying to validate office, it gave me an error saying invalid product key. What gives? It was valid before I reformated my hard drive. This is what I got after running the MGA daignositcs. I would be thankful for any help.

  • Wimsett123,

    Your installation of Office Pro 2003 is being reported as beng nongenuine for the reason of being installed with an Invalid Volume Licensing Key, which means a "keygen" program made up the key and it was never issued by Microsoft:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 108 Invalid VLK
    Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 - 108 Invalid VLK
    OGA Version: Registered, 1.6.28.0
    Signed By: Microsoft

    Please uninstall this nongenuine installation of Office 2003.

    Do you have genuine hologrammed installation CDs for Office along with a genuine Certificate of Authenticity fro Office 2003 Professional?
