  • Thanks for getting back to me.

Bought the laptop from a local company inclusive of the operating system. I was there when they registered it over the phone.

Have been using it for the last 7 months with no problem and it just started about a week ago.

Guess I need to go back to them to ask them about a new valid key?

  • yes. let us know what happens.

I think this computer originally shipped with Vista. (it has a vista bios marker)

  • That could be true as the company I bought it from gets a batch load of laptops and reconditions them (mix and match most likely), and install the version of windows I have.

Shall call them tomorrow with the fact the activation key has been blocked and post back what they say.

    Thanks for your help.
