Office 2007 Pro: convert -> invalid key RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a copy of Office 2007 Pro and the key isn't working to convert the Office trial version that was preinstalled on my PC. I really don't want to uninstall, reinstall and go through this whole hassle many people are going through.

I triple-checked my Office key, it starts with: THCG4-4KQ9M-*****-*****-*****

It says key is invalid every time.

    Please help!

    -dB.

You are probably running into the problem described in the "Converting your trial to perpetual use, Step 1" note (differing versions) on this web page:  http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA101936151033.aspx

  • How can I find out what exactly this version is? All I see everywhere is Office System ...

In Vista, Start>Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall Programs will bring up a list of programs---maybe the installed Office will be better identified there.
