Or, click the Windows Activation icon in the notification area.

    2.

Click Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to active Windows now.

    3.

Click Read the Windows Product Activation Privacy Statement, click Back, and then click Next.

    4.

Follow the steps in the Activate Windows by phone dialog box, and then click Next.

Note The number appears now and differs based on the location that you select.

    5.

When activation is completed and you receive the following message, click OK.

You have successfully activated your copy of Windows.

    BMxace,

Our analysis of the diagnostic report provided indicate that

Windows XP Professional is in Not Activated status

    and

Office Professional Edition 2003 is a blocked Volume Licensed Key (VLK)

Open Internet Explorer and type the following website in for the URL: http://www.microsoft.com/Genuine/diag/ .  Once you open please click the “Start Diagnostic" button. Click the “Resolve Now” button if/when the tool finds any issues.  The tool will, most likely, resolve the issue on its own or will provide you further instructions.  Go back and

    attempt validation again.

Next try this should the above fail: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798/en-us

I can see right away what the issue is and why you are not passing validation.  Unfortunately, the product key used to install the Office Professional Edition 2003 is a Volume License Key (VLK) that has been blocked per the request of the legal VLK holder.  As a rule, VLK editions Office should not be sold to individual consumers. Businesses, schools and governments normally use VLK editions for flexibility in installing many computers. Also, Volume Licenses MS Office are Upgrade licenses ONLY and cannot be used as the original or base license for a new computer. (This product key is Microsoft's corporate key and has therefore been blocked from use. If this key is being used, you will need to contact your internal IT department to obtain the correct product key assigned to their corporation, if that is the case)

Also please review the Validation Advisor for further guidance at:

    https://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/ValidationHelp.aspx

First, if this comes as a total surprise to you, please visit the retailer where you purchased the software and let them know the software is a counterfeit copy.  Please print a copy of the diagnostic report so you may show them proof for the VLK status. Request they immediately reimburse you and/or provide a Genuine Copy.
