Vail on a network with WHS production server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a tio sheet for installing Vail on a network where WHS resides.

Do I just turn off the production server and use a different name for the Vail Server?

  • Just use a different name. No need to shut down the V1 server; I have both running 24x7.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • Thanks Ken,

    Just wanted to be sure.

I have been happy with V1 but this one sounds great

  • I think it's much better overall than V1. It would be even better if Microsoft would just add support for Apple Lossless as a streaming audio format in the Silverlight player. :)

That said, please remember that this is a beta, and in particular that there are known issues with server storage. Nothing irreplaceable should be on your Vail server.

  • "just add support for Apple Lossless"

That is the biggest "Hint" I have seen in awhile, just made me laugh! : )

  • I have several hundred GB of Apple Lossless music. I want it to stream through the Silverlight player. There's no hint involved. Microsoft is well aware that I want this. :)
