  • Renewal takes effect on the date that your current subscription expires and that it can take up to 24 hours for the subscription status to be updated in OneCare if you are renewing within 30 days of expiration and 5 days if renewal was performed between 90 and 30 days before expiration.

     You can try the following:

    • Check your PC date and time.
    • Check your subscription status by logging in with your subscription LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com
    • Confirm that this is the same LiveID shown to be the Subscription ID in OneCare - Help/About…
    • Open OneCare and click "Check for Updates" to have OneCare check for updated credentials

If your subscription is correctly shown at the Billing site, but incorrect in OneCare and your PC date and time are correct, please contact support.

  • Log back into your Windows LiveID Billing Account and look to see if the date of expiration has changed to next year. If it has, you really don't need to receive an email.

However, if you wish to fix this too then select "Go to personal information" from the main Billing and Account Management screen, then if the "Contact e-mail" address is incorrect, select "Edit personal information" to change it. You can use a different email address than the one the account itself is named, so you can receive your notifications at your more commonly used address.

I have changed my own Contact e-mail address as I've changed to a different ISP since I originally created the LiveID. However, next year I plan to create a new LiveID and register for OneCare using my new address. Unfortunately I'll need to contact Billing Support to close the old Billing Account, since I registered my Credit Card for automatic billing and will need to stop that in the future.
