Can you check and see what version of Windows Home Server you currently have installed? Version numbers are in the console, settings tab, resources view.

How do I make sure that the pp3 installed correctly. When looking at the system control panel, it says thet I only have service pack 2 installed, but looking at the version numbers view it says power pack 3 is installed. I was thinking it was not installed until I looked at this post. So if it is installed, this is what might be causing some confusion on if pp3 is installed or not. I dont know if it can be stickied so people can tell that is installed or not. Here is my version info, this system is a new install with all updates applied.
Windows Home Server Console: 6.0.2423.0
Windows Home Server Backup & Restore: 6.0.2423.0
Windows Home Server Drive Extender: 6.0.2423.0
Windows Home Server Remote Access: 6.0.2423.0
Windows Home Server Storage Manager: 6.0.2423.0Wednesday, December 2, 2009 9:53 PM -
Dan, those are the correct version numbers. The Service Pack is also correct; it's for the base operating system (Windows Server 2003).

I am also not seeing PP3 show up on the Windows Update site. I have Power Pack 2 installed right now and never got around to testing the prerelease PP3. My version info is:
Windows Home Server Console: 6.0.2361.0
Windows Home Server Backup & Restore: 6.0.2361.0
Windows Home Server Drive Extender: 6.0.2030.0
Windows Home Server Remote Access: 6.0.2361.0
Windows Home Server Storage Manager: 6.0.2361.0
I have automatic updates turned on, but even when I click Update Now, it just tells me no updates are available.
Any ideas why I wouldn't be seeing it yet?Thursday, December 3, 2009 12:41 AM -
that is what I was thinking, but it did not click when looking at the system control panel. I didnt think that the service pack was being downloaded. This might be confusing some people as to if it is installed or not. Just my opinion. :)

This version is not one of the normal builds, it looks for me as if you installed the Beta of Power Pack 3 a while ago.
To remove it, log in to your server, open Control Panel/Administrative Tools and select Add or Remove Programs.
Ensure, that Show Updates is ticked and see, if you can find anything mentioning Power Pack 3 in its name.
If you cannot find it, find the file you downloaded to install Power Pack 3 Beta. This should have a KB number in it's name.
Now in C:\Windows find the matching folder $NtUninstallKBxxxxxx$ and execute the spuninst.exe you find in the subfolder spuninst there.
Best greetings from Germany

You are right. I remember downloading it. I just thought I never got around to installing it, and I was wrong. What threw me was when I looked at the setting in the WHS console, it said Power Pack 2 was installed (despite those version numbers). I guess I expected it to say the pre-release PP3 was installed.
Thanks for the help!Thursday, December 3, 2009 11:48 PM
