WHS Backup Service wont start. similar posts havent solved my problem. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know there are similar posts on this forum but i have looked at all the ones i can find and tried the solutions.  But im still having trouble with my WHS Backup Service.  It fails to start on startup & will not start manually.  I have tried the Backup DAtabase repair within WHS Console settings in the backup screen.  It says the backup service is not working and so i click the repair button, the repair process completes saying that the WHS backup DB has been fixed & the WHS BK SRV will now start but it wont.  I have tried deleteing the database files manually from the D:\folders\{00008086-058D-4C89-AB57-A7F909A47AB4} but the service still will not start.

I get these 2 errors in the homeserver event log: -

I am now stuck on how to fix this problem so i'd appreciate any help at all.

  • Could very well be issue with your system drive. Please run chkdsk on all drives in your server, instructions overhere; How to check all the drives in your server for errors

If that doesn't fix your problem, try uninstalling all Add-ins you have installed, reboot try again. If still not fixed you should do a server reinstall.
