PP3 Beta and Real PP3

Question
-
I'm going to be installing Win 7 in a couple of weeks so it looks like I'll want PP3 installed then also. What will happen when the final PP3 comes out. Will I have to reinstall WHS and PP3 at that point or will PP3 'finall' install over PP3 Beta? Will the backups still be intact?

Great thanks, that's real painless. I thought there would be more to it.

You will have to uninstall Power Pack 3 beta in order for Windows Home Server to automatically install it when released. It's not likely that it will be available as a separate download, so you'll have to either turn automatic updates on (if they're off) or use the Update Now button in the console.

But will the backups from Beta still work? My main worry is that anything done in beta won't keep for the final version. Also will this affect plugins that I currently use?Wednesday, October 21, 2009 3:45 PM

Yes, backups will still work, and no, add-ins should not be affected.
