Windows 7 search sucks and sucks extremely RRS feed

    I have folder with 100 subfolders. In that folder I am looking for a file which has letters DO i.e., subfolder name is "gsglj (DO) sjg".

    I am on the main folder, go to search and just type DO and the search screen is blank. Then I type *DO and the screen is blank. I try every thing else till I am complaining, abusing microsoft.

    I mean come on, I could write a simple batch file program that can do better than what windows 7 can do...

    Any clues here?

    And this is not just me. My entire company has the same issues and yes we are all STUPIDS!

    If the file is on the network, the Windows 7 search does not work on a network. You have to copy the folder to your hard drive or use the "make available offline" feature, which is basically the same thing. Yes, it's unbelieveable but true, in a system that Microsoft markets to huge corporations like mine, the search engin doesn't work on network folders.
