1) in preparation material they showd two books is that both book is necessary to buy and what is the difference betwwn them..
2)and second thing they shows the online training vidio what exactly it??
1) The first book "MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-536): Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Foundation" is the first Edition. The 2nd book "MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-536): Microsoft .NET Framework--Application Development Foundation, Second Edition" is the second edition of this book. So you should get the 2nd / newer one.
2) I never used any online training video. And at the moment I do not see it in the list of ressosurces at http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-536&locale=en-us#tab3. But maybe you saw it at the Microsoft E-Learning section. The Microsoft E-Learning is always woth a look. I checked it out because I was able to get a few for free through MSDN (I think I got 2 courses for free or so. Do not remember!) but I found out, that I didn't like them.
But very important: Every Person learns in an individual way! Microsoft spend a lot of effrort / time in these E-Learning courses and I am 100% sure that they are quite good. So even if I say that they wasn't something that I liked, You should spend some time looking if it could help you!
With kind regards,
Konrad

Hi,
As per you post I would suggest you that first take a look at your expertise and than confirm that in which field you are more powerful technically and whats your interest.
Certifications will really help you in your job career because you have just academic knowledge and dont have professional knowledge so when you will get certified so you will be able to work on some specific technology and you could be able to show specific knowledge which will really helpful for your Job.
Keep these things in your mind to get certified.
01. what is your interest. (Networks, Operating Systems, Messaging Systems, Database Administration, Development or Designing.
02. In which of the above you are familiar so you could go with that specific certification.
03. When you will confirm that what you want to do so reply me and I will feel happy to suggest you that what you should do.
I hope this will help you.
Regards.

Certification can help yes but is by no means the definitive thing you must go for. You have a degree and there are many companies who take on graduates and then train them in the certifications they require for their business. Cisco are a good example taking on many graduates, they are currently hiring graduates in UK and Bangalore.
Alternatively take Shafaquats advice and decide what interests you as it will help you certify if you enjoy what you are doing. Pick a path and stick with it, once you get a job you will often find you will blend into other areas also. My own job I deal with networking, voice, operating systems, storage etc etc etc as my company sells all solutions and I'm expected to support the end customer.
Good luck

I am also a 2010 passout and i completed my B.Tech in computer science and engineering from the WBUT, India.I am also looking for a job over here in kolkata and here also most of the companies are looking for a live project experience.I made a windows application project in vs2005 using the VB.Now recently i did another self-home made project on VS 2008 and C#.I am interested in going for the MCTS exam for the 3.5 ASP.Net applications. So for doing this or any other certification, you need to give an exam TS:70-536 on a compulsary basic. Now you have to decide which way to go.
The problem you are facing in U.K;i am also facing the same in kolkata,India.
Now lets see what is there for us in our future :)
best of luck

I used the SelfPaced training kit books on multiple exams. But if you have no experience in development then you should really play around and take your time with the examples and create your own projects.
If you have no experience so far, the self paced training kits could not be suffiecient. (I had this with my 70-433 exam which I took to make sure that I learned enough about SQL Server Development. So I had to use another book to read more about TSQL.)
So my experience with self paced training kit books is good. If you take your time and play around a lot and try to understand exactly how everything works, you should be prepared for the exam. But really be sure that you understood everything and ask others for more details if you are not sure about a topic (e.g. the Visual C# groups if you decide to use C#).
At least that way I did my exams 70-536, 70-433 and 70-505 in the past (At the end I also used the measureup tests to make sure, that I am prepared correctly).

Konrad

well in my view most of the IT company have 4 basic requirements: 1. Database 2. Operating system 3. Coding/programming 4. Networking try to be the best in any one of it am sure u will find urself placed in a very reputed position. If u are good in all then the company have no choice to reject you. No offence guys but thats my thinking. Thanks.Thursday, August 5, 2010 4:13 PM
