VS 2008 SP1 WPF crashes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

When I attempt to view the xaml in my VS 2008 SP1, VS 2008 crashes, placing the following in Event Viewer: .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.3053 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (67A30F92) (0)

I have looked at the following (http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/RemoveKB944899/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=1030), but it doesn't apply to me, because I haven't installed SP1 beta on my machine.  However, I did a manual check to ensure that I didn't have KB944899 on my machine and I don't, but I downloaded the removal tool anyway, and it confirmed that I didn't have it installed.

I have also tried the following link, too (http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3376328&SiteID=1&pageid=0#3403456), but that doesn't fix the problem either.  And as I say, I don't have the beta installed.

    Here are pertinent details:
    OS: Vista Ultimate SP1
VS: VS 2008 SP1 Team System 2008 Architecture Edition
    Machine rebooted?: Yes

I can successfully create a new WPF VS2008 SP1 project, but it takes nearly 5 minutes to open the designer window, each time maxing out the CPU.  I have opened 5 new WPF projects to tests the timings and they're all consistent.

I would be grateful if anyone could give me some pointers to look at or any other advice that might fix this problem.

    Thank you.

    Robert
