ISA 2006 and Desktop Sharing RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to get desktop sharing to work using the fat client from an internal client (behind ISA 2006) to an external client. I've got IM working but when I try to do desktop sharing it doesn't connect. I know that desktop sharing is a peer to peer feature and with two external clients, it connects however the client behind the ISA server is not connecting. What rules do i need open on ISA if it is possible? Is it because ISA doesn't do SNAT? i can see the firewall logs showing that it's trying to connect to the internal ip address of the external client. thanks.

Answers

  • Are you trying to do Desktop sharing from Communicator Client?
Then this does not work over ISA Server, you need to setup an OCS EDGE Server with A/V EDGE role

Are you trying to do Desktop sharing from Communicator Web Access?
Then you must sure that it works internally

  • I am kind of lost on this thread, but make sure you have installed ISA 2006 SP1.
